UK Children’s Hospital receives $100K grant

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Kentucky Children’s Hospital is getting a major boost in the fight against childhood cancer.

Hyundai Hope on Wheels is awarding the hospital’s DanceBlue Hematology and Oncology Clinic a $100,000 grant to support pediatric cancer research.

The check presentation will be followed by a colorful handprint ceremony, where young patients dip their hands in paint to help create a banner of hope. Hospital leaders, doctors, families, and representatives from Hyundai are all taking part in the event this afternoon inside the UK Chandler Hospital lobby.

Hyundai Hope on Wheels has donated more than $277 million nationwide since 1998, making it one of the largest nonprofit funders of pediatric cancer research in the country.
