UK Asks For Fans’ Help In ‘Gameday Recycling Challenge’

Solid Blue fans are being asked to put all beverage containers made of aluminum, plastic or glass into plastic recycle bags they can get at the entrance to all parking lots in and around Commonwealth Stadium this Saturday for the Alabama football game.

UK is participating in a nationwide recycling competition between schools across the country called ‘Gameday Recycling Challenge.’

The winner of the competition is determined by which school diverts the most trash from local landfills to nearby recycling centers.

Before Solid Blue fans leave their vehicles to go into Saturday night’s game, they’re being asked to tie their bags and leave them on the driving-lane side of their vehicles.

The bags must contain only beverage containers, no food or paper waste can be accepted.

Solid Blue fans can also recycle their concessions waste inside Commonwealth Stadium into white receptacles, which are located at all the stadium gates and concourses.
