U.S. News & World Report announced “High Performing” Saint Joseph Hospital and Saint Joseph Hospital
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Saint Joseph Hospital and Saint Joseph East have both been recognized as a High Performing Hospital for 2021-22 by U.S. News & World Report.
According to St. Joseph Hospital, the annual Procedures & Conditions ratings, now in their seventh year, are designed to assist patients and their doctors in making informed decisions about where to receive care for common conditions and elective procedures.
These ratings extend the U.S. News mission of providing consumers with patient decision support beyond the Best Hospitals rankings, which are geared toward complex specialty care, according to St. Joe.
Saint Joseph Hospital earned a “High Performing” rating for colon cancer surgery, and heart attack, heart failure and kidney failure procedures. Saint Joseph East also earned a “High Performing” rating for hip replacement, kidney failure and knee replacement procedures, as well as pneumonia treatment and recovery. Both hospitals are recognized for patient care that is significantly better than the national average, as measured by factors such as patient outcomes. “High Performing” is the highest rating U.S. News awards for these areas of care.
“This recognition from U.S. News & World Report further illustrates the excellent quality provided at Saint Joseph Hospital and Saint Joseph East,” said Tony Houston, CEO, CHI Saint Joseph Health. “We are honored to receive these accolades, as it reflects the commitment that our entire team has to providing the best care possible to our patients.”
