U.S. Marshals: Fugitive child rapist arrested in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- The U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force in Kentucky says it arrested a convicted child rapist today in Lexington. Investigators say Douglas “Scott” McBride was on the run for more than a year.

According to the task force, McBride had failed to appear in court in Dinwiddie, Virginia on a charge that stemmed from a 2013 rape conviction. Investigators say an extensive, 18 month search led them to Lexington.

The task force team says McBride was found hiding inside a bedroom in a home on Pasadena Drive. Investigators believe he had been living in the house for the past several months.

U.S. Marshals say they found 18 marijuana plants growing in McBride’s room, along with approximately 1,800 controlled pills. The task force says Lexington police will charge McBride with drug trafficking.
