U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree making whistle-stop visit in Lexington this weekend
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – The U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree is making a special stop in Lexington this weekend as part of its national tour to Washington.
“Silver Belle,” this year’s tree harvested from a national forest in Nevada, will be on display at Gatton Park on the Town Branch this Saturday, Nov. 15, from 5 to 7 p.m. The visit is part of the tree’s cross-country “whistle-stop” journey before it reaches its final destination on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol.
The community is invited to come out, sign the commemorative banner, enjoy music, take part in a food drive, make holiday crafts, and more.
