U.S. 460 Bypass project to begin in Scott Co.
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says that work will begin Thursday, February 14, for the Georgetown Northwest Bypass/U.S. 460 in Scott County.
KYTC says the project will improve connectivity and mobility around the city of Georgetown from Long Lick Pike/KY 32 to Interstate 75.
L-M Asphalt DBA ATS J/V Nally & Gibson was awarded the project for $12,965,065.48. The anticipated completion date for the bypass is July 2020. The construction will include two-lanes with paved shoulders. The projected traffic volume by 2036 is 12,000 vehicles per day.
The purpose of the extension is to close the loop around Georgetown and furnish a more efficient route for motorists and school buses. The traveling public will be informed of changes to traffic patterns through advisories furnished to media outlets.
The work will begin at 7 a.m. Thursday morning, February 14 and will not have an immediate impact on motorists.
