U of L finance team advances to national competition

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Some business students from the University of Louisville are participating next month in the national level of a global financial analysis competition.

The team, MBA students from the College of Business, bested teams from Indiana University, the University of Kentucky and five other schools for first place at regional competition earlier this month in Louisville. Teams prepared and presented an equity analysis report for Stock Yards Bank.

The Chartered Financial Analyst Institute Research Challenge Americas Regional is April 15 and 16 in Atlanta.

Members of U of L’s team are Chip Hockenbury, Ross Mayfield, Cipriana Prepeliuc (sip-ree-AH’-nah prep-EE’-lee-uhk) and Geoff Tinnell.

More than 800 universities in 55 countries take part in the annual student competition.
