Two-vehicle crash kills 1 in Whitley County

LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – One person was killed in an accident in Whitley County on Monday.

Kentucky State Police say the accident happened on US Highway 25 in Corbin at around 3:24 p.m.

Troopers say a 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier driven by 28-year-old Kyle A. Stoerger of Jellico, Tennessee was traveling southbound when he crossed the center-line and struck a 2001 Ford F-250
head-on.

The truck was being driven by 41-year-old Martin O. Myers of Williamsburg.

Stoerger was pronounced dead at the scene by the Whitley County Coroner’s Office.

Myers was taken to the Baptist Regional Medical Center to be treated for his injuries.

Troopers say they believe drugs were a factor in the crash.
