Two Taken to the Hospital after Richmond Robbery

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office is still looking for whoever sent two people to the hospital during a robbery.

Deputies said it happened around 9:30 Friday night at 543 Shearwater Drive in Richmond.

The victims told officers that they are acquaintances with the suspects and invited them inside.

During the robbery, detectives said two young men were hit in the head and about $500 in merchandise was stolen.

“There’s not a whole lot that goes on out there, in fact it’s unusual for us to have calls in that area,” said Deputy Willard Reardon with the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.  “We don’t think the neighborhood needs to be on alert, we think it was a targeted event so they should be able to rest easy.”

Investigators are still interviewing witnesses but said they are looking for a dark-colored compact car.
