One dead, another hospitalized after Friday night crash
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – One person is dead and another in the hospital after a crash, according to police.
The two-vehicle crash happened around 11:45 Friday night on Newtown Pike at the Interstate 75 intersection.
According to police, a road sweep truck appeared to have been exiting I-75 North, turning left onto Newtown Pike, when it collided with an SUV traveling on outbound Newtown.
The Fayette County Coroner says the driver of the SUV, 35-year-old Vincent Farr, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say his passenger was taken to the hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries.
According to police, the driver of the road sweep truck is in stable condition.
The crash is still under investigation.
