Two people shot in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington Police say two people were shot Thursday evening at the corner of Fifth Street and Chestnut Street.

Investigators say two groups of people came across each other at the intersection and began shooting at each other just after 7:00 p.m.

The two people who were shot were taken to the hospital.  Their names were not released.

Police are investigating what led up to the shooting.
