Two new emergency sirens added in Lexington
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – Lexington Emergency Management has added two new outdoor warning sirens, bringing the city’s total to 33.
One siren has been installed at Cardinal Run Park North and another near Davis Park, behind Artworks at the Carver School. Officials say the sirens are designed to alert people outdoors during severe weather—not those inside homes or businesses.
To stay weather-aware, residents are encouraged to sign up for free Lex-Alerts at BeReadyLexington.com or use a NOAA weather radio.
As part of its routine monthly test, Lexington Emergency Management sounded the entire siren system Wednesday morning, including the two new locations.
