Two men arrested for burglary in London

LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ)- Police received a complaint via Dispatch of people kicking in a door and entering a residence on W. 16th street on Saturday, December 9th.

Officers responded and found two vehicles parked outside the home.

Daniel Roberts, 67 of London, was sitting in one of the vehicles while David Pennington, 41 of Louisville, was standing in the driveway.

Pennington noticed the responding officer and took off running toward the back of the home.

Backup arrived to assist with the scene, set up a perimeter, and sweep the area in search of Pennington.

A K-9 unit arrived on scene and located Pennington behind a dresser in the bedroom of the residence.

Both men were arrested and taken to the Laurel County Detention Center.

Pennington is charged with second degree burglary, second degree fleeing and evading police, as well as resisting arrest.

He is also charged with two Laurel County warrants for second degree escape and tampering with physical evidence.

 

Roberts was charged with possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, after police received consent to search his vehicle. A cigarette pack was discovered with meth inside.
