Two men arrested in bizarre case that began outside a school
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Sandersville Elementary School in Lexington was on high alert Wednesday afternoon as a result of a bizarre case that began at the school and ended at a random house with two arrests.
Lexington Police say it all began when two men showed up at the school and said through the school entrance intercom that they were there to enroll in the school.
Police say when the two men were told they were too old to enroll in elementary school, they walked around to each school entrance and tried to get in.
Eventually the two men took off, but before leaving, police say the suspects tossed money into a storm drain at the school.
Police arrived on scene as the suspects were leaving and officers say they chased them for more than a mile before the suspects crashed into a garage on Mavado Court and went inside the home.
According to police, officers surrounded the house and were able to eventually arrest the two men.
Police say they found no weapons on the suspects when they were arrested.
19-year old Jordan Render and 20-year old Eric Scott were both charged with Fleeing and Evading, Burglary and Criminal Mischief, according to police.
They were lodged in the Fayette County Detention Center.
