Two men arrested, accused burglarizing Kroger
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Employees at the Tates Creek Kroger helped police arrest two men accused of burglarizing the store.
According to police, Saturday morning employees noticed someone had stolen cigarettes overnight.
Saturday afternoon, police say when 36 year old Anthony Martinez Merriman came back into the store, and tried to steal again, employees recognized him from surveillance video.
According to officers, Merriman fought with employees when they came up to him, even biting a bystander who tried to help. Police fought with them and Merriman tried to grab an officer’s taser.
Officers also arrested 46 year old Pleys Edward Hulett. They say they found drugs and stolen items in the car where he was waiting for Merriman.
