Two Lexington Businesses Robbed Friday By Man Wearing Clown Mask
Lexington Police were trying to determine if two business robberies on Friday, where the suspect wore a clown mask, were pulled-off by the same man.
Investigators said during the day, someone in a black SUV dropped off a man wearing a clown mask at the Cricket cell phone store at the corner of Versailles Road and Alexandria Drive.
Police said the man in the mask walked into the store, implied he had a weapon, demanded money, got it and left in the black SUV.
Later that night, around 10:45 p.m., police said a man wearing a clown mask walked into the Microtel Inn & Suites on Buena Vista Road, implied he had a weapon, demanded money, got it and ran off.
The investigation into both robberies continued into the weekend.
