Two Lawnmower DUI Arrests In One Week

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s department arrested two different people in two separate occasions for driving lawnmowers drunk in the same week.

They say they put Randy Lee Whitaker in jail August 31st after someone told them a man on a riding mower was driving all over Boat Dock Road toward a busy US 27.

What a deputy got there, he says Whitaker told him he had had 30 beers.

On September 6th, someone called from the drive thru lane of Hardees in Science Hill saying there was a man on a riding mower there.

A deputy says he asked the driver of the lawnmower what was going on and Gary Ard said he had been drinking and wanted to get something to eat.

The sheriff says Ard’s breathalyzer test showed his alcohol was three times above the legal limit.
