Two kittens found behind dumpster

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — Reporter Paris Lewbel found two young kittens behind a dumpster near his home on Tuesday morning.

The kittens had a blanket wrapped around them, he said, and a small plate of food left out for them. Lewbel placed them in a box after giving the kittens water and milk, and brought the small animals to Lexington-Fayette Animal Care & Control around noon on Tuesday.

LFACC told him they believe the cats are about 5 weeks old, and were indoor kittens before being abandoned. They were very clean, and looked healthy, LFACC said, and they will be holding onto the kittens for about three days to see if their owner claims them.

The kittens cannot be adopted, LFACC continued, until they are at least eight weeks old. Until then, the two kittens will be placed in a foster home until they are old enough to be adopted. The medical team at the Humane Society will reportedly be checking the kittens out to see if they are completely healthy.
