Two Killed in Lewis County Crash at Kentucky 9 and 59 Intersection
LEWIS COUNTY, KY. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Two people have died following a crash in Lewis County early Thursday morning.
Police say they responded to the intersection of Kentucky 9 and Kentucky 59 just after 3 a.m. for a reported collision. Officials say Amber and Gary Cole, both from Morehead, were driving south on Kentucky 59 when they attempted to travel through the intersection at Kentucky 9.
Authorities say an oncoming vehicle struck their Jeep, causing fatal injuries. The coroner pronounced Amber and Gary Cole dead at the scene.
Police identified the driver of the other vehicle as Cody Reed. Officials say Reed refused medical treatment at the scene.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
