Two juveniles charged after arson investigation in Carrollton

CARROLLTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – An arson investigation is underway in Carrollton after officials say two juveniles were caught on video breaking into a home and starting a fire.

Investigators say they were called Sunday to a residence on Highland Avenue for an arson complaint. When they arrived, they learned the homeowner had obtained video reportedly showing the juveniles entering the home and causing several thousand dollars in damage.

According to officials, the two juveniles allegedly started a fire on the floor of the house before leaving. Both were later interviewed by an officer and, according to investigators, confessed to the crimes.

The juveniles are charged with second-degree burglary, second-degree arson and first-degree criminal mischief.
