Two Found Shot In Car In Lexington
Two people were found shot in a car Thursday night in Lexington after one of the victims flagged down officers.
Police said the male driver stopped officers at around 11:30 p.m. on 7th Street and Maple Avenue but then drove off.
Police caught up with the car on East Main and Elm Tree Lane and discovered the man’s passenger, a woman, was also shot.
The two were transported from the scene by ambulance to the University of Kentucky hospital.
Police said the victims’ injuries were not life-threatening.
According to police, the victims told them they were in their car on Kilkenny Drive when two men approached their car and started firing.
Police said they went to the area where the victims said the shooting happened but were not able to locate a crime scene.
They also say interviews with neighbors in the area didn’t turn up much either.
