Two dogs killed in Lexington house fire

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A house fire Monday afternoon destroyed a home and killed two dogs.

The fire started at the home at 252 Perry Street just after 12:30 p.m.

The Lexington Fire Department says one person and four dogs were in the home when the fire broke out.

The homeowner and two of the dogs got out of the home safely.

Firefighters say two other dogs didn’t make it out and died in the fire.

Firefighters say they are still trying to determine the cause of the fire.
