UPDATE: Victims identified in deadly Laurel County collision

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Two people killed in a collision Wednesday in Laurel County have been identified.

The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office identified the victims as 82-year old Joie Lee, of Siler, and 78-year old Georgia Butler, of Trosper.

Deputies say Lee pulled out of a business plaza parking lot on the West Cumberland Gap Parkway into the path of Butler’s car, leading to the deadly collision.

Both drivers were pronounced dead at area hospitals, according to deputies.

Both victims were alone in their cars.
