Two children expected to recover after being shot in Lawrence Co.

LOUISA, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police say two children were injured after being struck by the same bullet Tuesday.

Investigators say the 4-year-old and 11-year-old were shot by a gun left unsecured by their mother at a home on Ramey Road.

The children were taken by ambulance to a hospital in West Virginia because they could not be airlifted due to weather conditions.

KSP says the children had non-life threatening injuries.

Police say they do plan to present evidence in the case to a grand jury.
