Two charged with counterfeiting in Bath County

BATH CO. Ky. (WTVQ) – Two people are in custody after Kentucky State Police say they found thousands of dollars in counterfeit bills at a Bath County home.
Troopers say they served a search warrant at 27 Bait Shop Road on Thursday as part of a joint counterfeiting investigation with the Morehead Police Department and Bath County Sheriff’s Office.
At the home, police say they found 127 counterfeit bills totaling $2,048.00 along with an EBT card belonging to another person not living at the residence.
They took 41-year-old Daniel Rowe and 18-year-old Mariah Rowe into custody, charging both of them with 127 counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument and possession of a forgery device.
Both are in the Montgomery Regional Detention Center in Mt. Sterling.
Authorities are asking area businesses and citizens in Rowan, Bath, Montgomery, and Carter counties contact the Morehead Post at (606) 784-4127 if they come in contact with any counterfeit money.
