Two change locks, found inside house: Sheriff

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Two people have been charged with first-degree criminal trespassing after they apparently changed the locks on an unoccupied home and were found inside.

According to a post by Laurel County Sheriff John Root on the department’s Facebook page, 55-year-old Vernon Ray Jarvis, of Manchester, and 43-year-old Angela S, Jones , of London, were charged at about 12:20 a.m. Friday.

Laurel Sheriff’s K-9 Deputy Gary Mehler responded off East 80 Church Road about 10 miles east of London to a call of flashlights inside an unoccupied house, according to the Facebook post.

He found Jarvis and Jones inside. The two had changed the deadbolt on the front door, according to the sheriff.
