Two arrested in connection to stolen property from AMVETS in Laurel Co.

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office says it has arrested two people in reference to stolen property from AMVETS in Laurel County.

Deputies say stolen property was recovered at a location on KY 1223, and a location on Standard Avenue. The property included a large Sentry safe, a smaller safe, a dollar change machine, a knife, a fishing pole meant for a raffle drawing, and DeWalt drills.

Detectives say drugs were also found in the kitchen area of a home, where a 10-year-old and a 13-year-old were living.

48-year-old Lawrence Mullis and 36-year-old Rebecca Bates were arrested on burglary and drug charges.
