Turn lane construction to impact Laurel County traffic July 13

MANCHESTER, Ky. (WTVQ) – Starting Tuesday, July 13, a lane closure is set for a portion of KY 1956, or Somerset Road – Old KY 80, at milepoint 7.2 in Laurel County.

The purpose of the lane closure is to construct a right turn lane into Colony Elemenary School. The road work will run Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and should be finished by Friday, July 30. Temporary traffic signals will be in place.

Drivers should seek an alternate route, be aware of the work zone, anticipate delays and use safe driving habits when going through the area.

Inclement weather or unforeseen delays could adjust the date, time and duration of the work.
