Trump releases tax info ahead of TV report

WASHINGTON (AP) – After insisting the American public wasn’t interested in his tax returns, the White House has released President Donald Trump’s 2005 income tax return.

The documents show he made more than $150 million in income in 2005 and paid $38 million in income taxes that year.

The release came just ahead of a broadcast by MSNBC.

A statement bashed “dishonest media.” The statement also said the broadcast, hosted Rachel Maddow was “desperate for ratings.”

It dismissed the disclosure as “a story about two pages of tax returns from over a decade ago.”
