Truck driver killed in Bourbon County accident

BOURBON COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A 43-year-old Pennsylvania man died in a traffic accident early Monday morning in Bourbon County.

According to the Bourbon County coroner, Jason Claar, of Williamsburg, Pa., was the only person in the semi truck that crashed between 6 and 6:30 a.m. Monday in the 1700 block of North Middletown Road — U.S. 460 — in Bourbon County.

The road was shut down for several hours while investigators worked the scene and cleared the wreckage.

Claar, who drove for Burk Trucking Co. in Pennsylvania, was a single father of a 15-year-old, the coroner said.

Claar died of blunt force trauma. Investigators don’t know whether he fell asleep or something else caused him to wreck. An autopsy is being performed.
