Troopers search for suspect after Perry Co. man shot

COMBS, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police say they are searching for a suspect after a man was shot in the face early Friday morning.

Troopers say they were called to a home on West KY 80 in the Combs community.  When they arrived, officers say they found Melvin Shane Gross lying inside of his home with a gunshot wound.

Police say Gross had stepped outside of his home when the shooting occurred.  He was taken to the Pikeville Medical Center for treatment.  His condition is unknown.

Troopers say they searched the area, but were unable to find anyone.
