Troopers charge Rowan County man with child sexual exploitation

MOREHEAD, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch arrested 29-year-old Jonathan C. Davenport, of Morehead, on charges related to child sexual abuse material.

Davenport was arrested as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation. The KSP Electronic Crime Branch began the investigation after discovering the suspect uploading images of child sexual exploitation online, the KSP said in a statement.

The investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at a residence in Morehead on May 10, 2021. Equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized and taken to KSP’s digital forensic laboratory for examination.

The investigation is ongoing.

Davenport is currently charged with one count of use of a minor under 16 in a sexual performance, a class B felony and one count of distribution of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor, a class D felony.

Davenport was lodged in the Rowan County Detention Center. He is being held on a $50,000 cash bond, according to jail records.
