Troopers: Body found in Madison County creek near Wilgreen Lake

RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ)- State troopers say a man’s body was pulled from a creek near Wilgreen Lake in Richmond, Wednesday night.

Troopers say they got a call around 7:30 Thursday evening from people canoing on Silver Creek near Curtis Pike and Wilgreen Lake Road. The call said there was a body in the water there.

Troopers tell ABC 36 News it’s hard to tell how long the adult man’s body has been there or if the body started there or was washed there during recent flooding. They also say they’re working with the Madison County Coroner to get an ID on the man.

They say they’ll be searching area missing persons databases to see if anyone comes up. Troopers ask if you’ve seen any suspicious information in the area, to contact local law enforcement.
