Tree canopy course being built near Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — An adventure course that’s built high up in the trees is coming to a forest near Louisville.

A company called Go Ape is entering into a partnership with Louisville Metro Parks to build the course 40 feet up in the tree canopy at Jefferson Memorial Forest. It will have zip-lines, rope ladders and Tarzan swings for a variety of skill levels.

The Go Ape company says it will be the 12th course like it in the U.S. All have been built inside public parks. The company says the way it builds the courses minimizes impact on trees and the environment.

The course is scheduled to open in June.
