Transportation crews to begin filling potholes

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Drivers across central Kentucky may notice road crews slowing traffic this week as state transportation teams work to repair potholes caused by recent winter weather.

State transportation officials say crews were already out Monday on state routes, surveying roads and identifying areas damaged by freezing temperatures and repeated cycles of ice and snow.

Repairs are expected to continue throughout the week as crews move from route to route filling potholes and addressing problem spots.

Officials are asking drivers to stay alert for slow-moving vehicles, temporary lane closures, and workers along the roadway while repairs are underway. Motorists are encouraged to use caution and allow extra time when traveling through work zones.
