Training sessions focus on domestic violence cases

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) – Two regional training sessions for Kentucky law enforcement will focus on issues involving fatalities in domestic violence and sexual assault cases.

The state’s attorney general’s office says the first session is set for Monday at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green.

It says the second session will be Wednesday at the Fayette County Courthouse in Lexington.

The training sessions are open to the media and designed to provide assistance for reviewing domestic violence-related deaths.

Officials say the goals include preventing such deaths and preserving the safety of battered women. Another goal is to hold accountable both the perpetrators of domestic violence and the agencies and organizations that come into contact with those involved.
