Train hits, kills man in Fayette County

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- A man has died after a train hit him Saturday morning near Waveland State Historic Site around the Fayette-Jessamine County line.

Lexington Police say it happened on Norfolk Southern tracks just south of the museum around 8:15 a.m.

Police say that’s when someone with the railroad called officers to say a man had walked onto the tracks and gotten hit.

The coroner is investigating, but hasn’t yet identified the man who died or explained what he was doing near the tracks.
