Traffic stop leads to major drug bust
BEREA, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — A traffic stop by the Berea Street Crimes Unit led to a significant drug bust along I-75 North on Monday.
According to police, a deputy and his K9 partner, Bruno, conducted a free-air sniff of a vehicle that alerted to the presence of narcotics. A search of the vehicle uncovered 37 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 3 grams of suspected fentanyl, 4.5 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, packaging materials, and more than $400 in cash.
Officers arrested Anthony Cornelison of Lexington, who now faces several charges, including trafficking in methamphetamine and fentanyl, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Cornelison was taken to the Madison County Detention Center.
