Traffic stop leads to arrest on drug charges
LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police have arrested a Corbin man on drug charges, after stopping him for a traffic violation on Terrell Road in Laurel Co. on Saturday.
Troopers say it happened around 8:30 p.m. when 32-year-old Michael S. McCormick was stopped. Officers say McCormick consented to having his car searched. That’s when police say they found drugs, paraphernalia, and a large amount of cash.
McCormick was arrested on the scene and taken to the Laurel Co. Detention Center.
Officers say after the arrest, they obtained a search warrant for McCormick’s residence. They say, on Sunday, they found additional drugs, paraphernalia, and several rounds of firearm ammunition. They also recovered a leaf blower that had been reported stolen.
