Traffic shift on I-75 in Rockcastle County Tuesday
MOUNT VERNON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Construction is progressing on the widening of Interstate 75 in Rockcastle County and with that comes traffic shifts.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists that starting Tuesday night, Sept. 26, south bound I-75 only traffic will be shifted from the current driving lanes onto the newly constructed lanes.
Crews will being switching traffic at approximately 7 p.m. EDT.
Motorists are advised to pay close attention to signage and are reminded that speed limits are currently reduced along I-75 to 55 mph.
The $31 million project, which began earlier this year, will widen the section of I-75 at mile points 64.5 to 69 in both directions from four lanes to six lanes. L-M Asphalt Partners LTC., d/b/a ATS Construction, of Lexington was awarded the contract and has an anticipated completion date for October 2018.
