TRAFFIC: I-64 improvements in Carter and Rowan Counties
FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky Department of Highways announced that one-lane traffic will begin on July 7, as construction continues on I-64.
Officials say a median crossover will be built to divert traffic away from the work zone, and traffic will be forwarded onto the eastbound side, until November.
For safety, concrete barriers will separate each direction of traffic while the two-way lane layout is in place.
Commercial truck drivers and companies hauling wide loads should note that both east and westbound I-64 travel will be restricted to 14-foot lanes until November. No loads over 14 feet wide will be able to pass through the work zone.
