Traffic alert: West High Street lane closure begins for speed table, drainage work in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 News Now) — Lexington drivers can expect a lane closure on West High Street for the next couple of weeks as crews work on traffic and drainage improvements.

According to city officials, one lane of West High Street — from Merino Street to Madison Place — will be closed starting Monday. Crews are installing two speed tables, which are longer and flatter than traditional speed bumps, as well as improving storm gutters in the area.

The work is expected to be finished by Friday, July 25.

Drivers are encouraged to plan for delays and use caution in the work zone.
