Traffic Alert: Stretch of Liberty Road in Lexington closed

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Liberty Road, between New Circle Road and Winchester Road in Lexington, was closed Thursday afternoon due to a downed utility pole following an accident.

Crews were working to replace the damaged pole.

Investigators say a pickup truck hit the pole after the driver says he lost control trying to avoid hitting a car that pulled out in front of him.

Lexington Police could not estimate how long that stretch of Liberty Road would be closed.
