Traffic Alert: Section of West Main Street in Lexington to be closed

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Beginning Friday, May 15, the right lane of West Main Street between Limestone Street and Upper Street in Lexington will be closed for construction on the 21C Hotel, according to the city.

The right parking lane had already been closed.  Two lanes of Main Street and a left-turn lane will remain open.  The closure will be 24-hours a day through June.  City engineers will mitigate the impact on traffic by adjusting signal timing at the light at the West Main Street-Upper Street intersection to add more time to Main Street movement.

The lane is scheduled to reopen before July 4, when the city hosts the Fourth of July Festival in downtown Lexington.
