TRAFFIC ALERT: Rolling roadblocks scheduled for I-75 in Laurel Co.

MANCHESTER, Ky. (WTVQ) The north and southbound lanes of I-75 in Laurel County will be the scene of a rolling roadblock between mile points 37-41 on Friday, April 1, beginning at 1 a.m. with an expected concluding time of  at 2 a.m.

The roadblock will allow a local electrical contractor to install an electrical cable that will extend above the interstate at mile point 39.5.

A rolling roadblock is a traffic control techniques to slow traffic to facilitate short duration work operations without an elaborate and difficult detour.  Traffic control law enforcement officers pace, or slow the traffic to a speed that provides up to 15 minutes of work time.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet asks motorists to be aware of the work zone, expected long delays and to utilize safe driving habits when traveling through the area.

The date, time, and duration of work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur.
