TRAFFIC ALERT: Overnight closures set for New Circle Rd.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The state says drivers should expect some closures overnight on part of New Circle Road in Lexington. According to the transportation cabinet, the closures are needed so that traffic can be switched to the new portion of roadway.

The changes affect New Circle Road between Versailles Road and Leestown Road. Starting at 7:00 Tuesday night, the left/ fast lane of both the inner and outer loops will be closed. The state says the lanes will reopen at 7:00 Wednesday morning.

And starting at 10:00 Tuesday night, drivers could see periodic and brief closures on the outer loop of New Circle. The state says they will allow crews to move the outer loop to a new segment of roadway. The outer loop closures could happen until 5:00 Wednesday morning.
