TRAFFIC ALERT: Lane Closure Wednesday Along I-64 In Fayette County

The right lane of westbound Interstate 64 at mile point 74 in Fayette County is scheduled to be closed on Wednesday, October 22, 2014, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.

The closure is for test deck installations of Polymer Concrete Overlay/High Friction Surfacing materials by the National Transportation Product Evaluation Program.

Information gathered from the test decks will be used throughout the country by states to assist with performance-based selection of the products that suit the needs of a particular state.

The NTPEP program was started in order to encourage states to share information about products commonly used across the nation.

This eliminates the need for each state to perform the same tests.
