Traffic Alert Issued for UK Basketball Game at Rupp Arena
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Drivers and pedestrians should expect heavier traffic around downtown Lexington this afternoon as the University of Kentucky men’s basketball team hosts the Vanderbilt Commodores at Rupp Arena.
The game is scheduled to tip off at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28. Officials say increased vehicle and pedestrian traffic is expected before and after the game.
Police officers and other personnel will be in the area to assist with traffic control. Those traveling near the arena or heading to the game are encouraged to allow extra time, use caution, and follow directions from officers, as well as all posted traffic signs and signals.
Pedestrians are also urged to follow posted signage and instructions. Drivers are reminded to drive responsibly, designate a sober driver, and not drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
