Traffic alert for construction on New Circle and on Manchester St.
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Drivers in Lexington should prepare for traffic changes as two major construction projects get underway.
According to the city, construction begins Monday on New Circle Road for a project to replace an aging sewer line. Work will start near Colesbury Circle and extend from Newtown Pike to Bryan Station Road. Officials say the project is expected to take about two years to complete. While most work will take place off to the side of the road, lane closures may occur at times for safety reasons.
Meanwhile, city officials also announced that part of Manchester Street will close Monday between Oliver Lewis Way and Central Bank Center. However, the right-turn lane onto Manchester Street from West High Street is reopening. Construction crews are working to improve pedestrian access in preparation for the future Town Branch Park.
Drivers are advised to be aware of these road closures and lane shifts as crews work to complete the projects.
