Tools stolen from Habitat for Humanity

MADISON COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Someone stole thousands of dollars worth of tools from Habitat for Humanity of Madison and Clark Counties.

“We were all kind of taken back and shocked,” said Nick Ray, director of construction.

Ray says the lock was picked on their work trailer and a window was broken at a home volunteers were working. Tools were missing from both.

Ray estimates about $3,000 worth of tools were taken including a large miter saw, a table saw, several circular saws, rotary and impact drills plus small hand tools.

“We’re going to keep moving forward until we run into a hiccup or issue,” said Ray. “If we’re missing something, we’ll improvise the best we can and just hope that we can find a way to replace those tools.”

Some replacements have already been donated and Ray is hopeful the community will come through in the organization’s time of need.

Habitat for Humanity of Madison and Clark Counties builds hopes in Richmond, Berea, Winchester and Waco.
